Seamlessly Transition into Fall

— by Stearns and Foster on Sep 26, 2022

The changing seasons are often an exciting time for most, whether it's the melting of the snow as spring flowers bloom; or the crisp cool air as the leaves begin to fall. Each season presents an opportunity to enhance your space, redesigning your “comforts of home” to align with seasonal themes and color pallets. With various trends and decor items, seamlessly transitioning into a new season can be overwhelming. As leaves fall this autumn, make your seasonal transition effortless with these must-have elements and tips.

Autumnal Tones

One of the easiest ways to transition your bedroom into an autumnal oasis is by adding warm, earthy tones. According to The Spruce, terracotta, olive greens, deep browns, and warm neutrals are all perfect transitional colors. These tones will help warm your room and create a dreamy fall sanctuary.

Layers and Textures

Achieving a warm, desirable ambiance for your bedroom is easier than you may think. Quickly refresh your room by adding texture, such as a velvet throw pillow, a knitted blanket, or a shaggy rug. These textures will be inviting not only to the touch but to the eye as well. Pro tip: opt for a faux fur or leather pillow to add a pop of texture to your bed or armchair.

Curate a cozy fall ambiance by layering a few warm-toned blankets or a new pillow to your bed. Layering can be done in the late summer months, gradually intensifying the feeling of coziness without having to redecorate your entire room as temperatures begin to drop.

Foliage and Florals

Sometimes a simple update can have the most significant impact when changing the look and feel of your room. Floral patterns are traditionally considered a spring or summer accessory but don't stray from them in the fall months. Rich colors such as burnt oranges, deep browns or blacks, and bold crimsons can pack a punch when trying to spruce up your room. A dark floral pillow will go a long way in adding to the overall style.

Foliage is also a great way to get into the fall spirit. Finding those earthy foliage pieces is an affordable way to provide warmth to your room. It doesn’t have to be anything grand, but a few branches in a vase in the corner of your room will quickly upgrade the feel. Our favorites: pampas, celosia, chrysanthemums.

Sights and Scents

Transitioning into a new season shouldn’t be stressful; it is a time for change and new beginnings. We look forward to the start of each new season and how we can turn our home into our perfect little oasis to help center ourselves after a long day. If decorating isn’t your thing, don’t sweat it! Think outside the box and use your sense of smell to enjoy the fall season. It’s no secret that Pumpkin Spice lovers thrive during fall, but countless other flavors and scents also share the same autumn feeling. Finding a couple of new candles for the season or baking a new dessert can do just as much for you as a new throw blanket. Try incorporating scents like cinnamon, sandalwood, maple, or thyme.

We encourage you to fall in love with your primary bedroom this season.
