Decadent Design - House Beautiful Whole Home 2023

— by Stearns and Foster on Mar 24, 2023

Late last year, Stearns and Foster® partnered with House Beautiful again for their fifth annual Whole Home project. Historically, the Whole Home project has been a built-from-the-ground-up showcase, constructing a brand-new home and decorating it with the finest design trends in just four short months – but not this time. Inspired by today’s limited housing market, instead of building a house from the ground up, the House Beautiful team found a historic home in Atlanta, Georgia, longing for some TLC. Tasked to restore this 11,000-square-foot home to its former glory, twelve interior designers would implement the latest design trends inspired by their unique design style.

While the home in its entirety is stunningly captivating, naturally, we’re drawn toward the owners’ suite and guest room. Designers Mark Williams and Niki Papadopolous set out to inspire this decadent owners’ suite into more than just a place to lay your head at night. Complete with a reading nook, brass stepped fireplace mantle, and sitting room, this design duo left no area of relaxation undone. Paying homage to Atlanta’s well-known tree canopy, floor-to-ceiling drapery, deep greens, and rich neutrals complete this luxe oasis. The centerpiece of the owners’ suite, chosen for its height, presence, and matchless comfort, is a king-size Stearns and Foster® Lux Hybrid mattress. Handcrafted using premium, indulgent materials, the Lux Hybrid delivers all-night support while eliminating pressure points. Papadopolous noted it’s a mattress that the entire design team "would all love to take home!"*

Just up the stairs of this historic Chastain Park Tudor, a luxurious guest suite encourages loved ones to check in long-term. Chicago-based designer Brynn Olson envisioned a presidential-suite caliber design, taking inspiration from high-end hotels to give overnight guests a luxurious experience.** Large windows reflect natural light onto glossy walls of custom cabinetry surrounding a relaxation zone. From here, feel free to read, work on your laptop, or enjoy good conversation over drinks with guests. Olson took a unique design approach when it came to the queen-sized Stearns & Foster® Estate mattress, placing it horizontally. The result? A lounge-worthy day bed when made, followed by a comfortable night’s sleep when turned down.

A good mattress is the perfect finishing touch to any primary bedroom or oasis guest suite, and we’re honored to partner with House Beautiful to make this design dream a reality.
